I'm working on my first real book now, and I guess I'm calling that my "story". My other books are collections of these short stories and poems.

That was awesome!! Not awesome that it is real to you and the feelings of loneliness that you felt, and painful for me to read about someone I consider to care for on a accquaintance level, but it really kept me in suspense and wanting to read on...so this is a short story? Do you have something that continues?

Saw your comment over at my blog. I was on facebook for about 1 week, immediately saw its potential to eat up my life, and got the hell off it. Good luck with your writing. I've also got to knuckle down.

If a man buys a woman flowers, he might expect her to be happy, excited, or whatever. But the reality is she might interpret the gift quite differently than he expected.

*woman thinking* "What did he do?", "What does he want?", "That cheating bastard!"

We experience an event, interpret it, and a consequence ensues.

We live our lives based on our interpretation of stimuli. If it doesn't affect us physically, it is up to us as to how we react.

Nobody can dictate how a message is received, only the manner in which it is delivered.

Marcus Aurelius once said "If thou art pained by any external thing, it is not this thing that disturbs thee, but thy own judgment about it. And this you have the power to revoke at any moment."
