My grandfather, Ward “Pete” Countryman, died in Texas on March 7th of this year. He didn’t want a funeral and it’s left me feeling like I have things left to say and do in my own way to say goodbye. I’ve been scrambling to figure out what it is, how to explain to everyone who will listen about how important this man was to me. All of my words sound hallow and contrived. As such, this is what I’ve come up with.
It’s meant to be a tribute of sorts. I’ll update it from time to time… whenever I feel the need.
I wrote these two poems about Grampa (In Memoriam and I Miss You). I think I’m going to take them and put them on top of a picture of him. Something. I dunno.
