Poems

Well. =) Unlike my stories, my poetry is more loose for me. I’ve always found poetry to be more of a free flowing river, while my stories tend to turn into meandering streams when the truth is concerned. That is not to say that my stories are not truthful, but merely stating how the truth comes out.

When writing stories, I know what I want to say, and usually how, but getting the actual story itself isn’t so easy. I can’t just write things as they happen to me or else I’d likely be sued for libel. Consequently, I end up taking another standpoint on it: another person’s point of view, take whatever my topic is and turn it into something larger (or merely a metaphor), changing or combining the people in my life into characters, etc…

So, to get back to the main premise of this page, I said that poetry is more loose. Hopefully now you understand where I come from with that statement. I feel that I am wrapped in a “web of anonymity,” as I called it once, with poetry. It’s like painting in that no one really knows what the artist was trying to portray except the artist him/herself.

As always, I enjoy feedback – positive or negative. Let me know what you think of my writings. Tell me it sucks if you think it does. It does not bother me because, to put it simply, I didn’t write it for anyone but myself.
